Five Tuesdays in Winter

I recently read Five Tuesdays in Winter, stories by writing queen Lily King. As always, King's prose is superb. However, save for a couple of tales, the collection is very dark. Overall I found the stories a bit too heavy and depressing, although the few uplifting parts are fabulous and heartening.
