Heart the Lover

I recently read Heart the Lover and just--WOAH. This stunning novel started as a fun campus romp. By the end of the book I was so moved I was rendered breathless. Literally! Author Lily King just might be the greatest novelist out there. Immediately after finishing Heart the Lover I ordered all her other books, save for Writers & Lovers which I had already read and loved.

Heart the Lover centers on the narrator, nicknamed Jordan, and two fellow college students, Sam and Yash. King weaves a tale spanning decades and continents. Her characters and story seem so deeply real, it's hard to believe Heart the Lover is fiction.

There are three parts, all gorgeous in different ways. The last is particularly poignant. It's beautiful and heartbreaking; piercing. Hence my aforementioned breathlessness. An absolute must read.
