It's a Love Story
First of all, I am - as ever - obsessed with author Annabel Monaghan. I attended her book launch at Athena Books and Monaghan was sharp and witty as always. Also - Athena Books is absolutely lovely!
I devoured It's a Love Story. Monaghan has a winning formula: Girl meets boy. There's friction. They fall for each other. There's a problem. They end up together. It's a Love Story is woven with a backstory of teen fame, current Hollywood bigwigs, a large Irish family. It's fun. And spicy. I did get a little frustrated with the "problem" in this particular novel. Mainly that there isnβt one! But beggars can't be choosers. I also don't like too much drama or disturbing content, so it is what it is! Also, this book has similar vibes to Funny Story, which I read right before.. Daddy issues, the main character being a "mess," etc. Both are light and juicy, perfect for summer.
