Everything's Fine

My fellow book lover friend Leah recommended this book and I am obsessed. I haven't been so smitten with a novel in quite some time. I was hooked on the epigraph page which included one of my favorite Clueless quotes, "Oh my god! I love Josh!" (I had my own Cher Horowitz experience at dinner with my friend Julie B., an aha moment when I realized that I, in fact, was in love with my best friend.. Justin.) Anyway, I digress. Back to Everything's Fine, a book so well-written and smart that I thought, this story must be true. The novel is rich with impressive prose, perfect dialogue and astute political commentary. The descriptions, the pace - All. So. Good. My synopsis won't do it justice, but the book centers on a young Black woman and her experiences at college and working in finance, her path crossing with an arch nemesis turned friend, and then lover. Taking place before and during the sea change of US politics in 2016, it's a must-read for so many reasons. Not least of all, it's a riveting love story :)
