A Bingeable Feast

Recently I've taken to staying up way too late, Swiffering my kitchen floor (so satisfying!), snacking on dark chocolate and watching a few minutes of PBS's Hemingway each night.

Dark, edifying, transporting, I'd recommend watching the Hemingway series. I’ve learned so much about the iconic, flawed writer. I’ve learned about the man, his humanity, his layers. His tragic parts and his light, whimsical side. For better or worse, Hemingway is relatable as a deeply feeling person.

I didn't go into the docuseries completely naive. I had of course learned about Hemingway throughout my life, and years ago I'd read the historical fiction book The Paris Wife, which chronicles Hemingway's first marriage. The story is fiction, but it's based on fact and includes a lot of real, documented details from Hemingway's lifetime. What a time to be alive. What a time to live an artist's life.
